While David notes the importance of law enforcement and good government policies, he points thought toward spiritual solutions that can lead to permanent healing. He says that there is some “heavy lifting” to do in order to gain intelligent solutions to the problem of violence, but that Christian Science provides the spiritual tools to do this work. During the chat, he describes some of these tools in detail and tells how they can help us.

Among the questions answered are how to pray about crimes committed by those who are driven by mental illness, resentment, hate; ways to address fear and anger, which often lead to violence. One site visitor asked Dave to expand on the idea of protection, on how we can be free from fear. Others asked how to support moral courage on the part of government in addressing violence.
