Christian Science Spiritual Healing
Christian Science has been successfully practiced around the world for more than 150 years. In 1875 Mary Baker Eddy published Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures to provide a full explanation of Christian Science, or “the scientific system of divine healing.”
As a Christian Science practitioner, Dave treats individuals dealing with physical illness, mental difficulties, emotional issues, relationship problems, financial or career challenges. No problem, big or small, is unresponsive to the power of prayer. Dave’s healing practice includes patients of diverse faith traditions, as well as those with no faith tradition. Christian Science is accessible to all. It meets the needs of any honest seeker. “God is universal; confined to no spot, defined by no dogma, appropriated by no sect. Not more to one than to all, is God demonstrable as divine Life, Truth, and Love; and His people are they that reflect Him — that reflect Love.” (Mary Baker Eddy)

Christian Science Treatment
The purpose of prayerful treatment in Christian Science is to help individuals find the harmony, health, joy and accomplishment that are inherently theirs, to remove impositions and limitations on their lives that may have built up unchallenged, and to restore health, peace, and confidence.
Treatment does not involve physical contact, drugs or counseling, however it will probably include a discussion of the general challenge being faced. Treatment involves the specific application of spiritual Truth to a claim of illness, discord or limitation. Because God is the only healer, the practitioner simply affirms God’s control. Personal proximity between practitioner and patient is not essential, and in fact, absent treatment is the norm. “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” Jesus
The practitioner’s prayerful treatment reinforces the patient’s own prayers to re-establish harmony, restore loss, redeem moral soundness, renew and refresh life and health.
Human wisdom is not equal to divine Mind. So the Christian Science practitioner does not humanly advise or attempt to guide the patient, but simply to open thought to the divine realities of being. “The genuine Christian Scientist is adding to his patient’s mental and moral power, and is increasing his patient’s spirituality while restoring him physically through divine Love.” Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 375.
God prepares the hearts of both patient and practitioner and brings them together for His good purpose. “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: And they shall be all taught of God.” (Jesus)
“God is above your teacher, your healer, or any earthly friend. Follow the directions of God as simplified in Christian Science, and though it be through deserts He will direct you into the paths of peace.” The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, p. 360.
The effect of treatment is to change the basis of thought to a spiritual one which destroys fear and dissolves the material problem. “The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind.” Science and Health, p. 162.
